"I didn't expect a kind of Spanish Inquisition!"
"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"
Monty Python's Flying Circus
The above photographs show the location of the government's Identity and Passport Service's ID Interview Centre for Edinburgh. A lovely building with panoramic views, it enjoys a prime location and is so handily positioned just a few hundred yards west of Haymarket Station along Haymarket Terrace.
This is a place where some nice people will invite you to help them with their enquiries, and will then want to take your photograph (but absolutely no smiling please!), fingerprints and iris scans ... and possibly even a DNA sample if nice Mr Gordo gets his way. But why not - for nothing could be simpler! The interviewers' main job here will be to ask questions to confirm that people are who they say they are. Obviously for those who are not too sure who they are - well do be careful and check with your mum before you come.
So drop whatever you're doing, and pop along immediately and take a look. The address is: 1st Floor, Apex 3, 95 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5HD. (street map)
How to get there: There is a frequent bus service from Princes Street via Lothian Buses 12, 26 and 31. Alight from the bus one stop after Haymarket Station, and walk on a further 50 yards - and you're there. Simple!
More information : the Interrogation Centre is open for business ("appointments only"), and the nice people have helpfully provided more information here.
